Nelson Brothers’ 900 Factory deluxe student housing complex near Utah State University has been approved for expansion.
The Logan Planning Commission last week conditionally approved the third phase of construction, which will add on to the existing six-story, above-ground parking structure and build six floors of apartments to the east of the current building. The proposal includes 48 apartments with 136 beds and 159 parking stalls.
Current floor plans at 9n00 Factory range from three- to six-bedrooms, but code changes made to the Campus Residential Zone will allow developers to include a greater variety of units. Phase 3 will include a mix of four-bedroom, two-bedroom ad studio apartments catered to newlywed students. Roughly half of the new apartments will be geared to married students.
“This is great news for Utah State’s married students who have been clamoring for this for years,” Nelson Brothers CEO Patrick Nelson said. “We’re very happy that the city of Logan has recognized the need and has cleared the path for this project to proceed.”
Construction on the next phase is expected to begin in July.
The 900 Factory complex, located in a gated community just two blocks from campus, include room service, a 24-hour fitness center, a movie room, a game room, a bowling alley and a study room. The fully furnished apartments are equipped with quartz countertops, finished concrete floors, stainless steel appliances, and a washer and dryer.
Students can also purchase an unlimited meal plan from the Pit Stop Café, located inside the Factory Student Housing Lobby.
